This GORGEOUS velvet black terrestrial species with its docile and hardy nature is very sought after in the hobby. They are indigenous to Brazil, do best with temps between 65-78F (18-25c) and 55-65% humidity. The growth rate of the BB is slow to medium and females can reach close to 7" at maturity. They are opportunistic burrowers so deep substrate is preferred.

Husbandry is simple, deep substrate, water dish, hide and an enclosure at least 4xs it's leg span. They can be a bit skittish as slings, but I haven't seen one kick hair or posture. They are pretty good eaters. Do well with crickets and Dubia, you can offer other prey on occasion to mix things up a bit....By far my favorite in my collection, and highly recommended for beginners!
